Childminding in Calne

Personal Details: I have been an Ofsted registered Childminder since July 2003. I am also a member of the NCMA and an active member of the Little Acorns Childminders support group. I live in Honeysuckle close with my husband Chris and two of my three boys, Christopher (17) and Ben (14). We have two cats and a golden retriever, all friendly, house- trained and inoculated. We also have a hamster. I am within walking distance of Fynamore School and Sunny Days nursery. I am an Accredited Childminder and I am on the childminding network. I can currently offer up to 15 hours per week of nursery education funding and, as of September 2017, I will be able to offer the government recommended 30 hours nursery education funding for two, three and four year olds.
The whole of the downstairs of my house has been dedicated to childminding. Children are free to move from room to room to access the large range of toys and activities I provide. I also have a secure, enclosed garden. I have child minded children from 3 months to 12 years and provide a safe, secure and fun, home from home environment. All children, until they start school in the reception year, have their own learning journey, in accordance with the EYFS. It will show how they are developing, what they are achieving, photos of places we have been to, learning activities through play and any pictures or paintings they have done, so that you do not need to feel you are missing any part of your child's day. We tend to go out in the morning and be home in time for lunch, and a quiet afternoon before the school runs. Any child that needs a nap can and I have a quiet book corner for children to read or spend time on their own. I am a non-smoker and nobody is permitted to smoke on the premises. The front door is kept locked at all times using a key and a security chain.
A typical week will involve visiting Nature tots, at Whitehall Garden Centre, Music for Tots at Calne free church, visiting play centres, going to play group, meeting up with friends, going to the park, feeding the duck, lots of playing, colouring, singing, reading books and most of all having fun. Children are encouraged to suggest where to go and what to do within the safe limits of my care.
